| I need some input from someone that knows computers well. I am in no way computer smart so that's why i'm coming to you fruit cakes. I need a desktop computer with some speed, that's not going to crap itself in a year or so. I do not play computer games, I don't use facebook ( not sure if that fucks computers up or not but I added it...deal). I need a goodie for school and my own pleasure. I have around a 1000 to 1200 to spend. Any help would be greatly appreciated. | |

| Since you don't play games, are you sure you'd rather have a desktop instead of a laptop? Since you're using it for school, the transportation aspect is nice. Either way, I'll see what I can find on desktops sometime tomorrow and if you'd rather have a laptop I can check that out too. EDIT: So I found these 2 desktops after a bit of browsing, but I'm sure I can probably find something better. Anyways, if you plan on upgrading the parts inside of your PC in the future, both of these aren't going to be for you. They have special parts that make them hard/difficult to upgrade. 679 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883155860509 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883113262The 679 one has a slightly better processor, slightly better RAM, and a much better graphics card, but if you don't plan on doing any gaming on it, just internet browsing, word/powerpoint, research, etc the cheaper one should do just fine. The cheaper one REALLY isn't good for gaming so if that's something that you might take up, I wouldn't go with it. If you want a REALLY good PC then I can look into that but you don't seem to do the tasks that would warrant the extra expenses. | |
